Recommended headsets

The Meta Quest 3 is the headset we built BelowJS for. It is the right balance of price and capability. The Meta Quest 3S will perform identically, but the older-style Fresnel lens optics are much less comfortable, especially for first-time users. The Quest 3 is the first affordable headset we have used that people generally enjoy.

Older headsets such as the Quest 2 may work for smaller models, but typically struggle with anything detailed enough to be impressive.

No setup required. Visit the site in a web browser, and hit Enter VR.

Tips

• Hand tracking can cause occasional issues with losing controller tracking when entering WebXR sessions. We turn this off in settings, and will do so until Meta fixes this bug.
• An aftermarket strap is much better for sharing, particularly ones with the wheel at the back to adjust fit. Audiences can struggle with tightening the stock strap.
